Dog Care Basics – how to bathe your puppy.
The bathing of your dog is an important part of the daily health care for your best friend and it cannot be neglected.
The frequency for dog bathing depends on your dog, its habits and daily activities, but it is advisable to bathe the puppy when you need to, because overdoing it can cause the skin to lose its natural protective properties and thus this can lead to dryness and irritation.
The first thing to consider is that if in the summer the coat goes dry due to the sun, in winter you have to bathe the dog indoors, in a bathtub or under the shower. Just choose a place where the dog can be easily controlled and it will feel comfortable. We also have to try to have a constant temperature that the water is not cold, but rather warm so that your friend does not suffer much from the cold. Overdoing it can cause the skin to lose its natural protective properties and thus this can lead to dryness and irritation.
Dog shampoos and soaps
You have to select a good shampoo that is specially formulated for the skin of a dog. Unless the shampoo protects from parasites, it’s good to carefully apply it to the dog’s coat so that it can clear perfectly.
Rinsing is important. Do not leave any soap on the dog’s coast, because it can cause irritation, itching and various dermal problems.
After rinsing, it is recommended to apply a conditioner so the dog’s hair is well hydrated and you will also facilitate brushing, since the fur gets smoother and does not form many knots.
Finishing the dog bathing rite
First you have to remove the moisture with a towel, apply it carefully in order not to entangle any hair. It is not advisable to rub the coat, it is best to gradually take out the water from the dog?s coat . It is very important that you let it dry completely.
Next comes my favourite dog brushing. Once you have removed the moisture and you have finished with the towel, allow some time for careful brushing.
Winter months and dog bathing
A dog also needs bathing in winter not so often as in spring and summer, but at least once a month you need to bathe the dog. It is true that in the coldest months, in the autumn and winter, you should make sure that you don’t leave the dog get sick.
In cold winter months it’s acceptable to wipe dog’s coat. This can cause a problem because there are dogs that can not stand the sound of a blow, so you have to get used to it and consider buying some dog wipes for everyday use.
After applying a towel to the dog’s coat, just try to be patient, the dog will calm down and you can turn on the hairdryer. Don’t keep it close to the dog’s coat, because it can be easily burnt.
