Dogs are our best friends. When we choose our friends, usually we don’t think about the way they look, or talk, or act. Friendship is more important than appearances. Every dog has its own personality, character, and behavior. If you have the chance, spend some minutes watching puppies from the same litter. They could be the same breed with the same parents, but they are not the same. So, how could you expect all dogs to look or act in the same way? Nature has great power. It still surprises us with its creatures and wild world. We can see, its hard work in the dog’s world, too. If you hear “Pincher”, or “Doberman”, you wouldn’t be surprised. But what about “Puli ”or “Chinese Crested”? Some breeds of dog are not so well known to us, or they are too strange and funny looking for people. We’ll introduce some of the strangest looking dogs in the world. Our first dog is the Bedlington Terrier. If you see a dog of that breed, you would never be able to say that it’s a dog. It looks more like a lamb. It has a triangular nose, triangular ears and curly coat, exactly like the coat of a sheep. And the strangest fact is, that in the past these dogs were bred for fighting. Today, they are great companions. The next dog we’ll talk about now is the Chinese Crested. A dog of that breed was voted as “The world’s ugliest dog”. Poor cutie! These dogs have almost no fur. They have fur only on their paws, the tail and the head. And what about the Neapolitan Mastiff? This dog is a giant. But that doesn’t make it strange. All of the loose skin and the wrinkles give it exotic look. While they are puppies, these dogs look really sweet. After they grow, they get their strange appearance. May be you are hearing for first time about the Peruvian Inca Orchid. If you think,that the Chinese Crest is a hairless dog, think again. The Peruvian dogs are almost completely hairless. If they have fur, it’s on the head and in the end of the tail. The breed of dog that will make you speechless is the Xoloitzcuntle. That’s another hairless breed. These dogs were considered sacred by the Aztecs. They believed, the dogs help them after death. There is a group of “mop looking breeds”. They are Puli, Komondor and Bergamasco. These dogs look exactly like mops. The coat of these dogs is corded. They were bred for herding, and today they are great family pets. Who could think nature could have such fun? Considered as ugly, strange, or funny, all dogs need to give and receive love.
